Review: Unglued Devotional by Lysa TerKeurst

Unglued Devotional: 60 Days to Imperfect Progress

by Lysa TerKeurst

The Unglued Devotional: 60 Days of Imperfect Progress,  is a 60 day devotional book written by Lysa TerKeurst to accompany her original book, Unglued. This quick, 60 day devotional was written to help Christians learn to cope with their emotions and become what God really wants us to be.

In the Unglued Devotional, Lysa TerKeurst starts each day with a scripture followed by a 'Thought for the Day' to reflect on. Next, is a short passage about the obstacles Lysa faced, how she overcame them, and how you can, too. After the Lysa's passage, the daily devotion is ended with a prayer for the day.

Regardless of what stirs inside you and sets you off, Lysa  TerKeurst can show you how to change your ways, cope with stress, and control your reactions when things don't go as planned. This amazing little devotional can help you learn to how to control your anger and emotional outburst during stressful events that occur in real, everyday life.

Stephanie's Review of the Unglued Devotional

Before finding the Unglued Devotional on BookSneeze, I  had never heard of Unglued or Lysa TerKeurst. The fact that it was a devotional about managing your emotions made me want to give it a try. Trust me, I am the first one to admit that I can fly off the handle. Okay, maybe fly is an understatement- ROCKET is probably more like it.

I received my review copy in the mail last week and quickly began to flip through it. I was excited to see that the daily passages where short and simple and wouldn't require 30 minutes to read. Obviously something I could do in the morning before work, on a quick break at work, or anywhere else that I had 5 minutes to sit, read and reflect.

Though Lysa keeps each devotional short, it's packed full of obstacles we all face in our daily lives, how she handled them, and how we should all handle them in order to stay sane, and strengthen our relationship with God.

Lysa does a great job of keeping you engaged and writing as if she is sitting next to you drinking a cup of coffee, iced green tea- That's right, she said in the very beginning she prefers iced green tea. Her devotions are written in a tone so that you can connect and relate, with a subtle -I'm a friend here to listen and encourage - approach.

If you are quick to fly off the handle or looking for a great little devotional then I would highly recommend Unglued Devotional. After reading the devotional, I am now seeking the original book, Unglued.
